Turning over a new leaf

Chopped my hair off recently. Love/hate?
It was at a really awkward length before and I needed it cut! I haven't styled it in the above pics so it looks kind of mom-ish.

Turned 19 a few weeks ago. My last teen year!! I'm sad to see them go, but relieved at the same time. The teen years are full of awkward growth and I'm hoping the 20's bring in sophistication a la Hepburn :)

School resumes in a week, which is a bit of a downer, but I'm excited for fall fashion!! Ugh, can't wait, as you can tell from my outfit. Who in their right mind wears a wool skirt and a sweater in summer? lol

So, in general, I feel guilty about not updating. I bought a new memory card for my camera since I broke the old one, but I failed to notice that the seller was overseas so it's taking FOREVERRRRRRRRR to arrive. Grrrrrr.

Designer Inspiration: Marc by Marc Jacobs

I was browsing through my inspiration folder, as I like to do from time to time, and pulled up some pictures from the Marc by Marc Jacobs S/S 09 runway show.

At first glance, one would wonder "who wears so much under hot weather?!" But the outfit looks surprisingly comfortable with its lightweight blazer and baggy shorts.

My interpretation:


I need more colorfully patterned shirts and necklaces! I love the beaded one the model is wearing.

Since my sister has an obsessive amount of shoes, I like to help her out and make sure they all get the love they deserve :3 Hehehehe.

Hope everyone (in the US) is having an enjoyable Fourth of July. People on my block are lighting off fireworks when it's still daylight -__- What's the point if you can't see them!?

Set Ablaze

It went from cool and rainy to unbearably hot and stormy...I really love this vest because I can still wear it when it gets hot outside!!

I can't stop wearing booties! Why, oh why, must they match everything. This outfit isn't summerish enough! I really need new sandals....or I can just borrow my sister's. Hehehehehehe >=D

1) When I was 13 (many years ago), I was totally obsessed with Harry Potter. So obsessed that I was sure I was going to get a Dark Mark tattoo on my forearm when I turned 18. Obviously, I came to my senses and didn't. lol

2) I really like doing DIY projects

3) I have 2 older sisters

4) I want ice cream RIGHT NOW @_@

5) I have no musical talent whatsoever. Can't play piano or violin (unlike every other Asian person on the planet).

6) Despite the above, I am awesome at Rock Band!

7) I love red nail polish.

8) Pet peeve: men who can't put the toilet seat down

9) Pet peeve: native English speakers who don't know the difference between you're/your and their/there/they're

10) I have an odd pinky toe.

PS - RIP Michael Jackson & Farrah Fawcett. They were great, talented people.

The Utility of a Dress

I absolutely LOVE when dresses have pockets!!! I rarely wear pants anymore so I always have to carry a bag with me everywhere, which gets pretty annoying.

I haven't really been doing much lately. I'm still trying to find a job (sigh) and I've been watching this awesome but freaky show about serial killers called Criminal Minds. I'm completely hooked. I've been watching it ALL night. As in, I haven't gone to sleep yet and it's almost noon...crap.
